Hastings & Rye - Full Day (Thursday) - experience the land of 1066, steeped in history, ancient towns and beautiful coastlines.
Discover the ancient remains of the first Norman castle in Hastings, a fantastically-preserved Old Town with fascinating heritage that tells of war, conquest, smuggling - and more. Afterwards we’re on to the old cinque port of Rye. Here you will find quaint old-fashioned, individual shops and a lovely old town to enjoy. Thursday is also market day so grab yourself a bargain. There will be plenty of time to look around before returning to Eastbourne along the stunning coast road.
Royal Tunbridge Wells - Full Day - a gem of British history, Royal Tunbridge Wells is a must-see.
Combine history, contemporary shopping and friendly locals and you have the recipe for a perfect break. Located just thirty miles south of London, Tunbridge Wells is brimming with attractions, cafes and elegant architecture just waiting to be discovered.
Brighton - Full Day - bright lights, beautiful buildings and big charm - there's so much on offer! Journey along the coast with us to reach this beloved English seaside town; full of happening places and excellent heritage to delight all ages. Visit the antique shops. Check out the ornate Brighton Pavilion. Wander its charming harbour. Enjoy the many good restaurants. Fall in love with the charming parks and gardens around or enjoy a pleasant stroll along the seafront.
Lewes & Beachy Head - Full Day - journeying through the rich farmland and tranquil landscapes of the South Downs and visiting one of its most famous landmarks.
First to Lewes, tucked into the rolling South Downs, on the banks of the River Ouse. Roam the winding medieval streets and explore the 11th Century Norman Castle, built by the first Earl of Surrey. Afterwards we’ll head back for the hotel by way of the world famous Beachy Head, where beautifully dramatic chalk white cliffs slice into contrasting blue sea.
Alfriston - Half Day - spend time exploring this charming village and bustling seaside town.
Fall in love with the townhouse shops, savouring the flavour in the historic chocolate store or why not take a peek at Alfriston Clergy House (at your own expense), a 14th Century thatched cottage and the very first building to be procured by the National Trust!
